Y - type solid mixers are intended for the homogenization of various granular or powdered products with varying physical characteristics, such as granulometry, formats, moisture, reagents or non - stable and differentiated temperatures, forming a resulting product with uniform composition in any sample collected.
The equipment is made of carbon or stainless steel, intended for the mixing of low-flow and friable materials, ie they must be handled gently in order to avoid degradation.
Usually the mixing time varies from five to twenty minutes, and other variants can be found that are relevant to reactions during the process according to the characteristics of the components. There may also be heating or cooling of the equipment by adapting a heat exchange chamber through an outer casing of circulating fluid or resistance, thereby creating a heat exchanger associated with the mixing equipment.
They consist of three Y-shaped confluent tubes that rotate in the vertical plane (tipping process) and they move internally by dividing and regrouping, creating in the region a friction where the mixture is processed.
